About Me

Hi!

My name is Julie Bell. I am currently in my second year of graduate school at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga pursuing a Mater’s degree in elementary education. I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in May 2008 with a degree in Nutrition. I am a huge Tennessee football fan and loved every minute of being a “Tennessee Vol!”

I am so excited to become a teacher and cannot wait to have my own classroom! Over the last five years, I have acquired much expertise to teach elementary school. I have taken over 30 hours of science classes, to make me highly certified to teach science. I am currently completing several education course that will help me in all my future endeavors, including a technology course that will allow me to adequately incorporate technology into the classroom. At the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, I was a member of Gamma Beta Phi, Kappa Omicron Nu, Golden Key, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. I was a member of the prestigious “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band, a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and a member of STEA! I am currently a substitute teacher and recently finished being a research assistant at Siskin Children’s Institute.

I have always known I have wanted to be a teacher since I taught a pre-kindergarten class. I taught one child who was seemingly autistic and he taught me what the true joy of learning looks like. From that point on, I knew that my passion was in the classroom. I love to see when children who have been struggling finally grasp a concept. I love to teach every subject, but my favorite subjects to teach are science and math! I love to have my students complete experiments and complete as many “hands on” projects that they can!

In my free time I love to play the piano and tuba and relax with a good movie. I love swim and go white-water rafting! I have one dog named Dixie!
